When did you begin working at CALM/ How long have you been at CALM?

I began working at CALM 5 years ago.

What is your role at CALM?

I am a therapist on the Great Beginnings team and the coordinator for our Domestic Violence program.

Please share one of your best CALM experiences (a time you felt like you really made a difference).

Anytime I am able to help facilitate and witness the strengthening of a parent/child relationship is a beautiful thing. I call it the magical part of our work. A healthy and loving attachment can make all the difference.

Finish the sentence, “If I could do one thing to make kids’ lives better, I would….”

Help them to know that everyone has the right to feel loved, safe, and respected and if any of these rights were violated help them heal and foster these in their lives.

What is one thing you wish people knew about CALM?

We are strength based. Although it is important to process and heal from trauma, we don’t just  focus on the difficult and challenging times that have occurred but really help to build strength, resilience, and confidence in children, parents, and families.
