CALM in Early Care and Education
CALM partners with early care and education centers to provide Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation. This prevention-based service pairs a consultant with adults who work with young children to support social-emotional development, address challenging behaviors, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and implement practices that buffer against stress and trauma. Services may include:
- Trauma-informed training and education
- Reflective practice groups
- Coaching and support for classroom management
- Approaches to promote social-emotional well-being
- Classroom strategies for behavior management
- Information and referral to community resources
- Programmatic consultation to inform policy and procedure
CALM in Pediatric Offices
During routine check-ups and well-baby visits, children and their caregivers are screened for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). When necessary, they are referred to CALM for short-term therapeutic intervention. The therapist works collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary patient care team to ensure timely, effective, and trauma-informed care.
