When did you begin working at CALM/ How long have you been at CALM?

I began working at CALM in April of 2015.

What is your role at CALM?

I am Lompoc’s Administrative and Quality Assurance Specialist. I take care of all the day-to-day tasks in the office, as well as process paperwork and assess technical issues.

Please share one of your best CALM experiences (a time you felt like you really made a difference).

Every year, CALM has an amazing program called “Adopt a Family” for the families of clients who may be financially struggling around the holidays. Hundreds of gifts are given to families in need by our amazing donors. Last year, I had a caregiver begin to cry and thank me profusely for making her Christmas a magical one for her children. It was a really beautiful moment, and definitely a gift in and of itself!

Finish the sentence, “If I could do one thing to make kids’ lives better, I would….”

If I could do one thing to make kids’ lives better I would promote understanding of diversity so that kids would feel more comfortable growing into their authentic selves, no matter what that may be!

What is one thing you wish people knew about CALM?

Many people assume that their child needs to be a victim of abuse to be eligible for services. Not true! We have so many amazing programs for children of all ages and adverse life experiences.
