When did you begin working at CALM?

    October 2017.

What is your role at CALM?

I’m a therapist for our Childhood Trauma Treatment and Intensive Family Services departments. Within those departments, I provide therapy services to children and families.

Please share one of your best CALM experiences (a time you felt like you really made a difference).

It’s hard to narrow down my best CALM experience. Each week that I have been here, I have had the privilege to be part of the experience of helping clients and their families develop life changing coping mechanisms to process difficult experiences, communication skills to connect with each other, themselves, and further build relationships within their family. It’s an honor to be allowed to work with these families and participate in each moment of connection and healing, no matter how big or small. Every day that I get to see a child connect to themselves or a caregiver, is my best CALM experience. Doesn’t get better than that!

Finish the sentence, “If I could do one thing to make kids’ lives better, I would….”

If I could do one thing to make kids’ lives better I would teach my kiddos how to find peace in their own minds and hearts no matter what is going on around them and teach them to know that their worth is immeasurable.

What is one thing you wish people knew about CALM?

CALM is a safe place for all families in this community. We approach every case, no matter how difficult, with unconditional positive regard and without judgement. We’re not here to judge your experience, we’re here to work as a team with you and your family to support your needs to heal, grow, learn, and connect.
