Parenting Support

Parenting Support provides therapeutic services for parents struggling with histories of trauma. The Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group and individual support help with regulation and life skills for parents with complex challenges and parenting issues. Each year, Child Welfare Services (CWS) receives close to 5,000 reports of suspected child abuse. For most of those calls, CWS does not need to open a case, but the family still desperately needs help. Those cases are referred to CALM’s Front Porch Program. CALM provides a short-term home visitation and case management program designed to address family risk factors by connecting the family to supportive services. It is only available to families who have been referred by CWS following a report of abuse or neglect, where CWS has determined that their own services are not warranted.

CALM prides itself on its commitment to clinical excellence. In addition to the quality of our staff, our very experienced clinical leadership, and our long history of preventing and treating childhood trauma, this commitment is embodied in the training, assessment and evaluation programs we employ in our work. Our clinicians used evidence based treatment, interventions that have been tested and are proven to work.
